Why we moved to the new site. One alum asked why we moved to the new site because she liked being just the classes of the 60s. We moved because it is a better site: efficient, more info available, lots of privacy. We are still classes of the 60s because you can see classmates by year and there is a dedicated classes of the 60s page with info just for us.

Trouble connecting? The site is heavily used and sometimes you coan’t connect the first try. Be patient and reload or refresh your browser (F5).

Newsletter “Policy.” We will use the “email all the classes” option sparingly. Regular news will be by a monthly (or less) newsletter using single-topic emails for only time-sensitive news - such as to announce fallen alum in time for you to attend a service or funeral.

Send newsletter items, Classes of the 60s info, or fallen brats info to Keith. You can also post your own announcements on the message forum HERE.

All past and present newsletters are collected HERE.

In Memory of 60s Brats additions since 15 Jun ‘10.
Jan Coval ’68 (sister of Doug Coval ‘67) passed in 2005.
Jim Pehrkon’65 passed on June 2010.

Any classmate may post a memorial for any other fallen Brat which can be seen by anyone and it places a rose by their name. See the In Memory list HERE.

The Joe Holcombe photo collection. Joe has graciously uploading his 60s era photos to a publicly available web page. Be sure to visit it HERE. Also check the Classes of the 60s page for an announcement of photos and information he may need from you. That announcement is located HERE.

Reunion 2011.
We have been having 60s reunions every three years; 2011 is reunion year, and we are looking hard at Chicago as the place even though DC usually brings in a good number of “day visitors.”

Then why Chicago?
•	Great place to visit, even if you have been there before.
•	Two airports serving almost every conceivable airline including the discounts.
•	Both airports get you into the city by light rail or metro. No bus or cabs.
•	Absolutely no need for a rental car as we will select a Michigan Avenue hotel.
•	You can walk or take a cheap bus, metro, or cab to anything worth seeing to include: The Chicago Art Institute, aquarium, planetarium, museum of natural history, Navy Pier, incredible shopping at every level, boat cruises, restaurants of all types, famous Chicago pizza, theater, Wrigley Field, and more.
•	You have probably seen everything DC has to offer and are tired of fighting DC tourists.

But, we are collecting opinions on alternate venues. They have to meet the standard criteria: good value (this isn’t a substitute for your annual vacation), avoid need for rental cars, convenience from hotel district to things folks want to see and do, and preferably multiple airports that conveniently serve.

More importantly, what are your views on the time? Traditionally we have held summer reunions because so many of us were teachers and couldn’t break away from school (even though reunions were weekend events, primarily.) Now many of the teachers are retired or have enough seniority to take a personal day or two. Summer for us now is usually when the kids are home from college or we are doing grandparent duty. Accordingly, early fall (after schools start but before it gets cold) seems to be a better fit for our age group. Email Keith on what you think.
