Overview

* We couldn’t get a suitable and affordable location in Chicago. We’ll try for Chicago next time.

* We selected Las Vegas which has always been a highly recommended alternative and where there have been many successful SAHS reunions. The fabulous Las Vegas Hilton has been booked.

* Our private and spacious hospitality suite opens noon Thursday for early arrivals. It closes noon Sunday, but we may keep it open depending on demand.

* Saturday night dinner dance with buffet, bartenders (pay as you go bar), and 60s DJ included in reunion fee of $85.00.

* Sally Harris ’66 has donated a free Sunday brunch buffet in the hospitality suite for Sunday morning !!

* Reunion committee arranged hotel rooms at $99.00 per night. Attendees must reserve rooms by 15 July 2008 to guarantee this rate. Go to https://resweb.passkey.com/go/SeoulAmHSReunion or call 1-800-635-7711.

(Note: We are aware that the hotel industry may offer specials that may, at times, be less than our rate. (Our rate is fixed.) Book that if you wish. If you register through the above link, however, the hotel will try their best to put you in a room near the Hospitality Suite. In addition, the more rooms booked in our name means they will hold more rooms in case the hotel gets booked.)

* Please register by paying the low $85.00 reunion fee. See Registration info below.

* Because of so many other attractions in the area (Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Death Valley, Route 66, shows etc.), we are leaving the schedule open for groups to make their own arrangements. Ya’ll talk to each other.

* You do not need a rental car to enjoy Las Vegas. See the FAQs.

Interested in attending ?

The current email list at http://www.khodges.com/brats/60slist.html shows those interested in attending the reunion. (We had 85+ interested in the Chicago reunion when we stopped counting.)  If you are interested in attending, send an email as soon as you can to sahsbrats@gmail.com telling us so and we will add you to the list; if some see their friends coming, they will sign up too.  When you finally decide to come, just register and we will annotate that list too.

Agenda

Thursday, August 14, 2008

For those who want to start the festivities early, arrive, check-in, socialize, sight seeing, make plans, and meet with friends in the Hospitality Suite.  Hospitality Suite will close around midnight.  However, unforeseen circumstances may require us to close around 6:00 A.M. the next morning.  Sometimes it's hard to kick people out.

Friday, August 15, 2008

More arrivals. Go and do wherever you want, or hang out at the Hospitality Suite.  Hover Dam is highly recommended; the energetic can do a quickie tour of the Grand Canyon.  There is plenty to do in Las Vegas if you don't want to leave town.

The Hospitality Suite will be open all day and most of the night.  Everyone is encouraged to bring food and drinks to share in the hospitality suite, or if you would rather just make a donation when we're there, that's fine.  Please bring yearbooks, newspapers, photos, and memorabilia to display in the hospitality suite.   Don't leave your yearbook behind just because everyone else will bring one.  The most fun is reading and sharing what everyone wrote in your book.

Saturday, August 16, 2008

Small groups go wherever they want. Individual activity all day. The Hospitality Suite will be open all day and most of the night.

Dinner will start at 6:00 P.M. and move to the Hospitality Suite at 10:00 P.M.  Pictures will be taken after dinner and before the dance.

Sunday, August 17, 2008

Free brunch in the Hospitality Suite courtesy of Sally Harris Smith ‘66.  Those who are leaving meet there for goodbyes.

Monday, August 18, 2008

Many people will be leaving this morning.  We may or may not keep the Hospitality Suite depending on need.

 Frequently Asked Questions

What does the $85.00 reunion fee include? The dinner dance, buffet, bartenders, DJ, and a few bucks for admin costs. Paying the reunion fee also allows attendees to use the hospitality suite.

Do I need a rental car? Not to enjoy Las Vegas. A taxi from the airport is $15.00-$20.00; the shuttle is $7.00. If you want to do a tour (Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, and the environs), the tour operator will take care of you. If you want to explore or tour own, there are plenty of car rentals available.

Will there be a Reunion photographer?  No formal photographer because of the number of personal digital cameras we expect. But we want to copy your digital photo cards at the reunion, and we will post the best on a web site so you can view or download them. We will also make arrangements for a CD.

T-Shirts?  We are arranging for T-Shirts. Stay tuned.

Do I have to come on Thursday or leave Sunday? No. Come when you want and leave when you are ready. Saturday is the big event. Many enjoy coming on Thursday to give them Friday and Saturday to tour, shop, or enjoy their friends. Some can’t get away until Friday. Some want to leave on Saturday, and others leave on Monday. You can come earlier or stay later at the same nightly rate.

Why aren’t there tours, events, and/or a Saturday event planned?  We have learned that attendees want flexibility and often do not make a firm plan until they hook up with friends. Do as you wish; there is plenty to do. Class years might want to plan small events with each other. Chat it up with your friends.
